Simpson Reef Sign
For those not familiar with the area we have posted maps of the way to Cape Arago from Bandon or the Bay Area and the location of Simpson Reef  on the Cape

Coquille Point Sign
SEA provides on-site education for the public at two venues.  Coquille Point in Bandon in the spring and Simpson Reef on Cape Arago through the summer.
The Simpson Reef Overlook is actually in Shore Acres State Park, but almost a mile south of the entrance to the gardens.  Just past this sign on Cape Arago Highway there is a parking lot on the right which is adjacent to the deck cantalevered over the edge of the bluff with a stunning view of Simpson Reef and its centerpiece Shell Island.
It is here that hundereds, often thousands of up to four  species of seals and sea lions "haul out" to rest and sun themselves; and in the case of the two seal species, to breed.
From Memorial Day until Labor Day SEA Docents are present from 10 am until 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Coquille Point viewing area is a part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge.  It is located in Bandon at the west end of 11th St.  SEA Docents greet the public there from the 3rd Sunday in April until Memorial Day; every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am until 1 pm.
