COQUILLE POINT, Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge [Map]

Coquille PointThis habitat is one of the important seabird nesting colonies in the United States and presents outstanding opportunities for viewing numerous birds. Common murres, pigeon guillemots, tufted puffins and several species of cormorants are among the seabirds that can be seen here. Harbor seals haul out on the rocks in this location, but the closeness of the rocks to the people who walk the beach mean that their appearances are infrequent and less comfortable that they hope.

SEA docents (wildlife interpreters) are available during the spring with spotting scopes and wildlife brochures to aid in your enjoyment of this beautiful area. More information on the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge, of which Coquille Point is a part, is available at the US Fish & Wildlife Service web page.
